CWG tickets go on sale on 1st June

Suresh-KalmadiWhile the Capital is still on its way of getting itself ready for the upcoming Common Wealth Games (CWG), but the organizing committee (OC) is gearing up to sell tickets for the Commonwealth Games from June 1.

In a case where even all the venues are still not ready, the ticket price for the CWG is believed to be as cheap as Rs. 50 per ticket. OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi said that around 1.7 million tickets are expected to be sold as far as the CWG is concerned from October 3 and the tickets will be available only from a dedicated call centre, the Commonwealth Games 2010 website and a few select outlets. It is expected that the tickets will be sold at more than 50 outlets of Central Bank and Hero Honda just after 1-0-15 days of the launch of the tickets sale.

While Kalmadi refused to give any further details on the tickets slab, sources believe that there will four slabs wherein an option of group booking will also be available.

In fact, it is believed that the ticket price will vary from match to match while the price of opening & closing ceremony will be different altogether.
