Country Club buys properties worth Rs. 96 crore in various cities

Country Club (India) Limited, a Hyderabad-based, entertainment and leisure company, has acquired properties worth Rs 96.04 crore in the cities of Chennai, Pune, Delhi, Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat during the past two months.  

Most of the above acquisitions have been of existing clubs or properties conducive for creating clubs, a top official said. The company plans to refurbish these properties and bring them up to the Country Club standards.

The acquisitions are a part of the strategic expansion plan undertaken by the Company to consolidate and strengthen its pan-India footprint. It recently launched its first spa in Hyderabad and proposes to set up such spas near Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.  

Country Club operates a chain of family clubs in India and Sri Lanka. It presently operates 33 properties across the country. Recently, the company has raised Rs 486 crore through a GDR/QIP issue, priced at Rs 770 per share. 

The company has registered a 115% increase in net profit at Rs 15.10 crore for the quarter ended September 2007. Its sales increased by 105% to Rs 66.81 crore.
