In yet another case on poll-related Naxal violence, a Congress leader was killed by Naxalites in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.

According to a senior police officer of the district, Naxalites slit the throat of Congress President of Kuakonda bloc Trinath Singh Thakur on Friday and killed him brutally.

The incident took place in Kadapal village where Sharma had gone for a party work, he added.

Police had rushed to spot and combing operation is going on, the officer said.

Few days ago two BJP leaders were shot dead by Naxalites in Chhatisgarh.

Dantewada is heavily affected by Naxalite activities.
