Civil nuclear regulations a mandatory step: France

Nuclear-EnergyThe Government of India still faces a stiff resistance upon the civil nuclear liability bill France claimed the issue to be an 'integral matter' yet stressed upon the rules which were necessary in order to establish a 'robust, equitable and efficient liability regime' in Indian sub-continent.

The opposition bill which pertained to the nuclear regulations was recently passed in the Parliament. In order to draw further information relating the same reporters questioned French Ambassador Jerome Bonnafont, to which he completely washed his hands off stating, "It is up to India to conduct its internal debates and its democratic debates, the way it has be conducted. So, I have absolutely no comments on the process which is going on in Parliament."

It follows the very first deal which was struck amidst the two nations aiming to strengthen the nuclear relations and also, inking a mutual agreement on civil nuclear accord with India in 2008.

It saw an emergence of new era when the Nuclear Suppliers Group re-opened the doors of civil nuclear commerce for the country after a 34-year long break.
