CII welcomes power control measures by TN governmentIndustry representative body, The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has said that the new restriction and control measures imposed by the state government of Tamil Nadu on power supply will help avoid unscheduled power supply and allow industrial units to plan in an efficient manner.

A release from the CII said that that measures including a 40 per cent power cut for all industrial and commercial consumers, two hours power cut in state's capital Chennai and its adjoining suburban areas, four hours load shedding in other rural and urban areas, evening peak hour restriction for commercial consumers as well as power holiday to all industries will help industries plan their operations in a better manner.

It also affirmed to the state authorities that that industry is supportive of the decision and ensured full support.

The industry body has asked all industrial units operating in the state to adhere to the power holidays in order to make sure that the government's plans are properly implemented.
