Chidambaram reviews security with Chandigarh, Haryana officials

Chidambaram for setting up war room to deal with terrorChandigarh, Apr 8 : Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Wednesday held two separate meeting with officials of Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh to review the internal security situation ahead of Lok Sabha elections. According to police sources, Chidambaram, who reached Chandigarh this morning, held an hour-long review meeting with Punjab Governor and UT administrator, S F Rodrigues, Adviser Pradip Mehra, Home Secretary Ram Niwas and other senior officials.

After attending the meeting, Chidambaram drove to Haryana Civil Secretariat where he met with the Haryana Government officials.

State''s Chief Secretary Dharamvir and Home Secretary Krishan Mohan informed that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, M L Tayal, attended the meeting.

The 90-minute long meeting was conducted without media interaction. (ANI)
