Chambal’s gun-toting men make a macho display of long moustaches
Morena (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 22: Men residing in Madhya Pradesh's Morena District take pride in having long moustaches and owning guns, and this is reflective of the macho culture of the Chambal Valley.
Men having moustaches and standing together holding guns is a common sight here.
"Moustache differentiates a man from a woman. Women don't have moustaches. If we remove ours, we will be considered women," said Munnalal Shukla, a village head.
Moustaches and guns are the pride of Chambal.
"The Chambal valley will lose its significance without us having moustaches and guns. Moustaches make us feel brave and guns are vital for security," said Pritam Singh, a villager.
The Chambal Valley, which is the hotbed of dacoits, is a place where men wear their masculinity on their sleeves. (ANI)
