Can this really be the way to make a purr-fect cup of coffee?

Hamburg, Germany - Can this really be the way to make a purr-fect cup of coffee? A type of coffee from Indonesia owes its special aroma to fermentation in the most unusual of places: cat stomachs.

The beans of Kopi Luwak coffee are eaten by a certain type of skulking cat, according to the German coffee association in Hamburg. They ferment in the animal's stomach and are later excreted. The beans are then collected and processed.

A kilogramme of roasted beans costs 120 euros (191 dollars) according to the association, but it said the aroma is "incomparably full." (dpa)
