C V Sridhar Leaves His Legacy BehindIt’s a big loss to the Tamil Film Industry, famous film maker CV Sridhar who was 73 years old died at Chennai Malar Hospital, where he was admitted last week on being fallen seriously ill. It was reported that the film maker suffered a stroke few years back.

Sridhar started his career in the Tamil Film Industry as a dialogue writer when ‘Radha Pasam’, a play written by him was made into a film. The Director who made his debut as a Director around sixties gave the industry all new look with his dialogue oriented drama based creations. His first film was ‘Kalyanaparisu’, a Gemini Ganesan starrer which won huge accolades and was a Box Office Hit. He commenced his own production company in 1961 named as Chitralaya which produced many popular movies.

The dialogue writer turned Director and eventually a Producer introduced Jayalalitha into the Film fraternity. His ‘Nenjil Oru Aalayam’ was one of the beautiful ventures, later also made in Hindi as ‘Dil Ek Mandir’. His another film ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ got huge appreciation which again was remade in Hindi starring Kishore Kumar.  

Sridhar was also known for the perfect treatment of style he used to endorse his actors with. He has made number of films, amongst those was a soft romantic film with Rajini – Kamal as stars in ‘Ilamai Oonchaladugirathu’ during late Seventies.

The sad demise of the veteran film maker which took place in the hospital at 10a.m. is undeniably an irreplaceable loss to the Tamil Film Industry. He is survived by his wife, son and a daughter.
