Buzz Aldrin in a recent tweet released some images of 1969 documents showing the historic walk on the moon cost him $33.31. Aldrin, now 85, became the second man to walk on the lunar surface after he made the first lunar landing in 1969.

The ‘travel voucher’ for his trip revealed on twitter clearly itemizes each detail of Aldrin’s travel arrangements, with a ‘government spacecraft’ noted among government aircraft and automobiles used on the trip. ‘Government meals and quarters furnished for all above dates’, the voucher stated.

Another tweet from Aldrin showed that all the astronauts on Apollo 11 had to sign a customs form upon their return to Earth from the Moon. The tweet shows the form with date July 24, 1969, which is being signed by Neil Armstrong, who was the first man on the Moon, Buzz Aldrin who was Apollo 11’s Lunar Module pilot, and Michael Collins.

The trio in the form declared they had brought back moon rock and moon dust samples. The form also clarifies that none among the three suffered from any illnesses and any other condition on board which may lead to the spread of disease was ‘to be determined’.

Aldrin also tweeted a photo of the Apollo 11 astronauts wearing biological isolation garments, which they wore to avoid lunar dust from infecting people on Earth.

The 85-year-old joked in his tweet said, “Yes, the Apollo 11 crew also signed customs forms. We brought back moon rocks & moon dust samples. Moon disease TBD”.
