BSF recovers 10 kg of heroin in Punjab

PunjabAmarkot (Punjab), Apr 27: Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered ten kilograms of heroin worth 500 million rupees from two people in Punjab.

“Four kilograms of heroin hidden in the fodder of the bullock cart was recovered and six kilograms of heroin was found at the end of a plastic pipe kept on the cart. A total of 10-kilograms of heroin was seized. The price of the heroin in international market is about 500 million (Indian Rupees),” said M. L. Wasan, Deputy Inspector General, BSF, Ferozpur.

BSF guards deployed at K-S Wala post near Amarkot village in Amritsar District intercepted Gurlal Singh, Lal Singh and Biker Singh who were riding a bullock cart going back from fields. Biker Singh managed to escape.

“This heroin was being smuggled to India from Afghanistan via Pakistan. Apart from this route they try to smuggle heroin through other routes also,” Wasan added. (ANI)
