British People Are Unable To Hit The Target

According to a new research of the consumer habits of the nation, only 12% of the British British People Are Unable To Hit The Target people are able to hit the target recommended by the experts. Global market insight group TNS found in the study that 12% people eat five portions of fruit and vegetable in a day, and other 12%people do not eat any portion of fruit and vegetable.

The study, titled ‘Health of Britain – Perspective on Nutrition 2008’found the differences between age, gender and social class .On an average, people in Britain eat two and a half portion of fruit and vegetable in a day.

The people who are the age group of 45 and wealthy able to meet the target, on the other hand children and the poor people are unable to meet the target.

Giles Quick, who conducted the research, said: “While the need for 'five-a-day' seems to be common knowledge, the number of us who actually achieve this is shockingly low.”

The report also suggests some positive methods to eat more healthy. Young  people who said they cooked from scratch has grown by 14% over the last 2 years.

The share of some set meals families has also risen. Now the lunchbox of a child also includes 16% more fruits and 25% more vegetables.    

Mr. Quick added, “The revival of savory home cooking, increased parental control over children's lunches, the return to the table for the family dinner and the ever-increasing importance of healthy food choices are clear signs that Britain is - slowly but steadily - changing its attitude to food,”
