According to a recent report in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, mobileinsurance. co. uk has listed some of the weirdest mobile insurance claims which have been received by the insurer over the last one year.

The list by mobileinsurance reveals that the most bizarre of excuses - such as handsets having been baked; or stolen by monkeys, or flushed down the toilet - are given by some people when they seek an insurance disbursement for their mobile handsets which may have got lost or stolen.

Interestingly, as per the report, mobileinsurance said that each of these mind-boggling mobile insurance claims was investigated, and a number of the craziest claims were also accepted.

Going by the mobileinsurance list, the `top ten' craziest mobile insurance claims which people in Britain have submitted to the insurer for the loss of their handsets are: lost inside a cow; baked into a cake; flushed down a lavatory; filched by a seagull; blown up by fireworks; lifted by a monkey; dropped from a tree; hurled at a boyfriend; worn down by 'intimate' use; and dropped overboard.

About the weird mobile insurance claims, the insurance firm's managing director John Lamerton told the Daily Mail: "Judging by these claims, you really never know what you might need to claim for. My advice would be to just use the phone as a phone."
