Brit anglers’ world record 17ft, 1124lb shark catch!
London, Nov 23: A shark, big enough to make 2,914 portions of fish with chips, has been caught.
The world record thresher shark is 17 ft and weighs more than half a ton.
Fishermen Roger Nowell and Joe Crowe caught the monster three miles off the coast of Land’s End, Cornwall as they hunted squid on Nov 21.
The 80-stone beast caused 500pounds of damage to the trawler hydraulics.
Merchant Julian Smart paid 255 pounds for the 1,124lb giant on Nov 22.
Smart plans to sell the shark to wholesalers, who will slice it up for restaurants.
“It’s a beauty but it would cost at least £20,000 to stuff so hopefully I can sell it on,” The Sun quoted Smart, as saying.
“I’ve never seen a thresher like this — it’s absolutely massive,” Smart said. (ANI)
