Brazil remain ahead of Spain at top of world rankings

Zurich - Brazil continue to lead European champions Spain in the latest football rankings released Friday by FIFA.

The Netherlands remain in third place, followed by world champions Italy. Germany drop one place to fifth, ahead of Argentina and England.

Croatia move up one spot to eighth, despite failing to qualify for next year's World Cup finals in South Africa, while France and Portugal complete the top 10.

Cameroon jump 15 places to 14th to become the highest-ranked African team. (dpa)
