Braafheid is the latest Bayern Munich signing, from Twente
Amsterdam - Left back Edson Braafheid will leave Dutch club Twente Enschede for Germany's Bayern Munich, Twente announced late Tuesday.
Twente said in a statement on their website that Braafheid, 26, will sign a contract in Munich on Thursday. Munich will reportedly pay a transfer fee of 2 million euros (2.8 million dollars).
Braafheid is the second player from the Eredivisie to leave for Munich since Dutchman Louis van Gaal took the helm there for the new season, the other being Croatia international Danijel Pranjic from SC Heerenveen.
The Dutch element in Munich also includes team captain Mark van Bommel.
Munich have also signed Germany striker Mario Gomez (for a Bundesliga record 30 million euros), Croatia forward Ivica Olic, Ukraine midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk and German midfielder Alexander Baumjohann for the new season. (dpa)
