BP is trying to clean up the oil slick with help of a giant iron funnel of 40ft tall and 98 tones of weight at the Golf of Mexico. The 98 tones funnel is having a dome-top made up by steelworkers. It will be connected to a drill ship and then will be placed on deep seafloor.

BP has accepted that this is going to be a tough task for the company to block the leakage at the rigs.

Even the company has not done this kind of work ever before in 500ft deep in sea. There will be number of obstacles and it is not going to be an easy task for the engineers and workers.

BP Chief Mr. Hayward has said that BP is taking the responsibility to clean up the oil slick caused by their drilling rig and it will be cleared soon.

Although various risk is involved in this cleaning but the company is confident to execute it properly. 85% of the clean up will be done in this month itself as per Hayward.
