Bollywood begins filming first second generation Indian-American movie in WashingtonWashington, Dec. 13: Infiniti Entertainment has begun the filming of “e-Preeti,” the first Bollywood movie set exclusively in Washington D. C.

The movie is the first to be directed by a second generation Indian-American!

The comedy film will shoot in December, January and February at several locales in the Washington , DC metropolitan area.

e-Preeti is a family-friendly bilingual (Kannada/English) romantic comedy. Produced by Manan Singh Katohora and directed by DC-native Priyabharati Joshi, the movie stars Diganth Manchale, Nina Mahesh, Tejaswini Prakash and Bharath Kumar.

The film addresses the complex inter-cultural issues that arise in relationships between Indian immigrants and Indian Americans who were raised in the US their entire lives by Indian immigrant parents, or who are a product of mixed marriages, or the so-called "ABCDs" (American Born Confused Desis).

The film is set against the backdrop of DC’s politically charged government contracting community. “e-Preeti” is also unique in that several key members of the cast are Washington natives.

For the all-star Bollywood cast and crew, Infinity is hosting an official launch party! The event will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at The White Tiger Restaurant in Washington. (ANI)
