Bofors case decision to come today

Ottavio-QuattrocchiCBI's plea to close down the Bofors case in which Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi is involved will get its decision today. A Delhi court is going to give its judgment. This is going to happen as the court decided to reserve its order on the plea on Tuesday.

The development is that CBI has continued to stay strong on its stand against the income tax tribunal's order that calls for severely indicting Quattrocchi. The investigative bureau had said that the tribunal case against the main accused in the Bofors case has got nothing new to offer.

Income tax tribunal in its order had said how the two foreign parties- Quattrocchi and Win Chaddha, had taken bribes in the defense equipment scandal.

Anil Agarwal, the lawyer who has been opposing CBI's plea has said that he has got proof that shows that CBI has got a lot of evidence against Quattrocchi and is not willing to come out with them. It also showed how the kickbacks had violated the Indian rules and why they are liable to pay income tax.

The report also said that because of these people, India had to pay an extra Rs. 160 crore for the guns.
