BMC, a Swiss bicycle brand renowned for its high-performance road and mountain bikes, has announced the launch of its latest offering, the sleek and tech-savvy 257 AMP AL One electric bicycle (e-bike). Extending its legacy to urban commuting, BMC revealed that the 257 AMP AL One e-bike combines premium components with lightweight construction. Boasting Bosch-branded powertrain, this new electric urban commuter stands out promises a blend of simplicity, technology, and remarkable performance.

The renowned e-bike brand’s collaboration with Bosch resulted in the robust performance as it allowed the company to incorporate Performance Line CX motor into the tech-savvy two-wheeler. The e-motor is capable of delivering a torque of 85 Nm for power, it relies on the Bosch PowerTube 625-watt-hour battery pack that comes seamlessly integrated into the downtube. The Kiox screen provides essential ride statistics in addition to offering advanced features like smartphone integration for a connected urban commuting experience.

Designed and developed to cater to the needs of urban riders, the 257 AMP AL One prioritizes longevity as well as reliability. It replaces the conventional chain drive with a noiseless, maintenance-free belt drive connected to an internally geared rear hub. This design diminishes exposed moving parts, ensuring noiseless operation. It also reduces maintenance requirements. To bring the e-bike to halt safely, the manufacturer has equipped it with Tektro HD-EU818 hydraulic disc brakes. The Shimano Alfine eight-speed system ensures smooth and efficient gear changes, which is a common feature on premium e-bikes.

The fenders protect the rider against splashes, while the Redshift ShockStop Suspension Stem absorbs vibrations on uneven roads. The Selle Royal Vivo saddle promises a touch of luxury, while the puncture-resistance Pirelli Angel GT Urban tires ensure a confident grip on various surfaces.
