Black Eyed Peas make a record of downloads
"I Gotta Feeling" of the Black Eyed Peas has created a record of being the first ever track to be downloaded more than one million times in UK. The album was originally released on 8th June 2009 and remained at the number one spot for more than two weeks.
The singer of the album Fergie has said that it is very nice to know that they are so much connected with the listeners. He has also added that hopefully the nice vibes of that song would continue to make the listeners lives happy and bright.
The managing director of the Official Chart Company Mr. Mertin Talbot has said that the record is a milestone and a very nice initiative for the future of the download market.
The number of downloads were counted as a part of the singles chart for the first time in the month of April 2005. After one year the digital downloads were also started to be counted in the chart.
Just a few weeks later the Crazy of Gnarls Barkley became the first track to be at number one position without selling a single copy.
