Bipashu Basu starrer ‘Shob Charitro Kalponik’ selected for Durban Film Fest 09

Well-known Bengali film-maker Rituparno Ghosh's film, 'Shob Charitro Kalponik' (All Characters Imaginary), has been selected for the 30th Durban Film Festival this year in South Africa.

'Shob Charitro Kalponik' is a story of death and loss with many emotional and romantic moments staring Bipasha Basu, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupa, Pauli Dam and Sohag Sen.

The film is produced by Indian conglomerate Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG)'s flagship media arm Reliance Big Entertainment Ltd (RBEL).

Speaking on this, Mahesh Ramanathan (COO, Big Pictures) said: "Our efforts to broaden international horizons for Bengali films are beginning to be successful. Rituparno's work has also been widely acclaimed globally."

The film will be screened in the panorama section of the festival, which runs from July 22 to August 2.

The Bengali film is listed to be screened July 30 in the festival.

In India it will be released August 28.

The other films to be screened in the panorama section include movies by directors like Woody Allen, the Dardenne Brothers, Lars von Trier, Laurent Cantet, Steven Soderbergh, Takeshi Kitano and Michael Winterbottom.
