Bilawal Bhutto urges world not to lose faith in people of Pakistan

Bilawal BhuttoVienna, Mar. 7 : Assassinated Pakistan Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto’s son and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman, Bilawal Bhutto has urged the international community not to lose faith in the people of Pakistan who are striving to find their place in the world.

Addressing the Women’s World Award ceremony here, the Bhutto scion admitted that Pakistan was going through a tough time.

Commenting on the current political instability in the country, he said that the present turmoil was a result of year''s long trouble and that the PPP government had inherited the backlog of years of political instability in the region.

Bhutto commended the work done by the Pakistan Government led by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

“Gilani is continuing my mother’s political mission for the alleviation of the sufferings of the masses, to give them hope and to surmount the piled up backlog of the problems left by the past rulers,” The Nation quoted Bhutto, as saying.

He gave away the Benazir Bhutto Tolerance Award to internationally acclaimed Italian actress, Claudia Cardinale. (ANI)
