Bihar offers tremendous scope for developing solar energy market: WISE
The Indian state of Bihar offers tremendous scope for the development of solar energy market, international organisation World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE) has said.
According to WISE, Bihar enjoys around 280 days of sunshine in a year, which reflects great scope for developing solar energy market. As per the international organisation, Bihar currently offers a solar equipments market worth more than Rs 40 crore, and this market is expected to expand further in the coming years.
Solar energy giant Tata Power Solar's senior executive Sanzar Ajmi said that solar equipments usage is growing in the state and solar equipments were moving from rural to urban areas.
Speaking on the topic, Ajmi said, "The solar power equipments market is roughly witnessing around 15 per cent growth in the state every year."
ALPEX Solar, one of the leading producers of solar equipments & photovoltaic cell-based solar plates, said that people and companies in Bihar purchase solar instruments worth Rs 3 crore to 4 crore every year.
ALPEX Solar, which builds solar power system in the range of 3KW to 10KW, has installed a 22MW-solar power system at headquarters of East Central Railway (ECR) at Hajipur, and is now preparing to install a 25MW solar power system at Samastipur Railway division.
With a sincere intension to popularise the use of the clean, renewable energy, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also got installed a solar power system at his official residence.
