BHEL Pockets Order Worth Rs 4015 Crore From Hindalco

BHELBharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), a public sector undertaking, has announced that it has secured an order worth Rs 4,015 crore from Hindalco Industries.

The order is for the supply of boilers, turbines and generators for Hindalco’s 900-MW captive power plant in Orissa.

While confirming the development, a company statement said, “BHEL has secured a Rs 4,015 crore order from Hindalco Industries for the supply and erection of main plant package (boilers, turbines, generators)at its upcoming captive power plant (6x150MW) at Sambalpur district of Orissa.”

With this order, the company’s total order book stands at Rs 1 lakh crore.

The order comes on the heels of an order placed on BHEL by Hindalco recently for a similar main plant package for its captive power plant (6x150 MW) at the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh.

The equipment for both the projects will be manufactured and supplied by BHEL's manufacturing units at Trichy, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Bangalore and Ranipet.

BHEL has secured orders for all the 12 units of 150 MW boilers and TG sets for Mahan and Aditya Aluminium projects, tenders for which were floated by Hindalco in June last year.

BHEL’s scope of work in the contracts involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply and erection and commissioning of steam generators and turbine generators along with associated auxiliaries, electrostatic precipitators and state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation.
