Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India, has bagged an order worth Rs 990 crore from the Indian Railways for supply of electric locomotives.

The company picked the single-largest order in transportation business for supplying 150 electric locomotives to the Indian Railways for Rs 990 crore, making it the highest value single order received from the Indian Railways.

It should be recalled that the company is already executing an order for 50 numbers of similar locomotives for Indian Railways and the present order is in addition to the ongoing order.

The scrip of the company today closed at Rs 2264, up 1% compared to previous close of Rs 2237.
