BHEL to bag orders worth Rs 100 billion
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), leading state-run power giant is planning to secure orders worth Rs 100 billion in October this fiscal for providing power equipment.
BHEL functionaries stated in a communiqué that private players and NTPC would mainly award the orders.
According to an official release, at present, company's order book position stands at Rs 1,32,000 crores.
The sources informed that BHEL intends to commission over 4,000 MW capacity by September next fiscal for the Commonwealth Games.
Out of 4,000 MW, the power equipment manufacturer would start two units of 500 MW each at Dadri Power plant as well as two units of 500 MW at Mejia plant in West Bengal.
Recently, Indian Railways has awarded Rs 990 crore order to BHEL. The order has been placed for supply of electric locomotives. The company will provide 150 electric locomotives to the Indian Railways.
