Bharat Petroleum Q1 net dips 74%Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), a public sector undertaking on Tuesday reported a decline of 74 per cent in its net profit, which decreased to Rs 614 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 1067 crore in the same quarter last year.

Further, company's total income has also dropped to Rs 26196 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 39298 crore in the same period last year.
 
Shares of the company gained Rs 12.4, or 2.75%, to close the day at Rs 462.80. The total volume of shares traded was 165,422 at the BSE.
