Beats Electronics launches all-new pill-shaped portable speaker
An all-new portable speaker system - dubbed `Beats Pill' - was launched by high-end headphone firm Beats Electronics on Tuesday; and can now be purchased from the Beats Store, as well as through authorized Beats resellers. The retail cost of the speaker is $200.
With its size nearly the same as the Jawbone Jambox, the pill-shaped Beats Pill wireless speaker has four separate speakers; sports a range of 30 feet for changing music tracks wirelessly; and boasts compatibility with all Bluetooth-enabled devices.
According to the details shared by Beats, the new Beats Pill speaker can be charged with the help of USB cable; and offers seven hours of uninterrupted power. The speaker comes along with a carrying case with a connected carabineer; and some other accessories, including an AC adapter, a USB 2.0 cable for charging and data, and a 1.5-meter audio cable which features 3.5mm jacks on both sides.
Weighing 0.34kg, the Pill is 45.72mm high and 190.5mm long; and it also features an internal microphone to enable users to make calls, provided that their handsets are connected via Bluetooth. The speaker is presently available in black, red, and white; but Beats has revealed that more color choices will be added "soon."
Noting that the Pill promises "soaring highs and deep, booming bass," Beats said that the speaker has been "specifically designed to optimize sound quality and maximize volume."
