Lahore, Apr 26 : Banned jihadi organizations like Harkatul Mujahideen, Hizbul Mujahideen and Al-Badar have reportedly started regrouping themselves in Karachi under different names and are holding rallies and meetings inside mosques and distributing pamphlets to spread information about their activities.

These organizations have been dormant for the past several years.

Activists of these sectarian organisations had carried out wall-chalking, hoisted outfit flags and displayed posters to inform the public about their activities, including gatherings in mosques in Karachi, reported the Dawn TV.

Quoting sources in banned militant outfits, the report said that these organisations were active under new names and venues, adding that they had recently held large rallies in Karachi.

Harkatul Mujahideen has reportedly moved its base from Islamabad to the outskirts of Rawalpindi, and is likely to rename itself as “Insarul Ummah”.

The Jaish-e-Muhammad leadership is meeting in Bahawalpur over the weekend to finalise a new name for their outfit. Harkat-e-Jihad Islami is holding a gathering on May 4 in Kotli, Azad Kashmir. The Muttahida Jihad Council led by Hizbul Mujahideen met on Monday in order to discuss a new strategy, according to the channel. These organisations were expected to be re-active by the middle of May, aid the TV channel report. (ANI)
