Axis Bank, leading private sector bank, has declared its second quarter results ended September 2009.

During the review period, the bank has posted a decent growth of 32% in its net profit which stood at Rs 531.64 crore.

In the September ending three month period of the previous year, the net profit figure of the bank stood at Rs 402.91 crore.

The sources informed that the total income of the bank during the latest quarter surged to Rs 3,925.94 crore from Rs 3,239.45 crore in the similar period a year ago.

Bank's interest income during the review quarter has witnessed upward trend of 12.4 per cent to Rs 2,860.36 crore, while the interest expenditure figure stood at Rs 1,710.68 crore, up nearly 5% over the previous year period.
