Autographer click-free camera takes pictures without user intervention

Autographer click-free camera takes pictures without user intervention British company OMG has come up with its first consumer device --- the fascinating Autographer, which is an innovative camera that uses Microsoft software and five built-in sensors for selecting the best moment for clicking a photo without user intervention.

With the Autographer having a leading edge over the other cameras in that it decides the most appropriate time for capturing an image, OMG said that the Autographer can be worn around the neck; and it quietly captures a 5-megapixel picture when its sensors sense the occurrence of something interesting.

In addition to the fact that the click-free Autographer actually takes pictures for the users on its own, it is also possible to combine the high-resolution images - which can go up to a total of 2000 in one day - for creating a visual record of any memorable event, such as a party or other special occasions or celebrations.

Noting that the Autographer takes a place between stills photography and video, Nick Bolton - CEO of OMG - said that while the camera essentially captures "really meaningful single images," there is "actually something about watching the day back in sequence"; and elaborated: "It tells a story about the day you've just experienced."

The Autographer camera - an early version of which was incidentally developed to help people suffering from dementia - will be priced at £399 when it hits the UK markets in November; followed by a potential release of the device in the US and Japan.
