England restricted Australian batsmen to 156/8 after they returned to pavilion for 425 runs on the board in the morning session.

M Hussey was top scorer for the Australian team who scored 51 runs, while S Katich contributed 48 runs with the bat.

J Anderson took four wickets, while S Broad showed the way to pavilion to two Australian batsmen.

England yesterday resumed from their overnight score of 364/6, and the overnight unbeaten centurion Andrew Strauss (161) returned to pavilion in the very first over of the day without adding even a single run to his individual total.
