Atlanta man charged for shooting LIL Wayne's bus in April

An Atlanta man has been charged with multiple felonies, including a gang activity for shooting at one of LIL WAYNE's tour buses following a gig in Georgia in April (15).

According to local media reports, 25-year-old Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, member of the Bloods gang has been accused of firing at the two-tour buses last month.

Winfrey fired from a moving vehicle on a metropolitan Atlanta highway, Interstate 285. About a dozen people were riding the buses after the rapper's performance at an Atlanta nightclub on April 26.

Winfrey has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, terroristic acts, gang activity, felony possession of a firearm, and criminal damage to property by Cobb County Police charged.

An arrest warrant for Winfrey reads, "Said accused did commit said act in order to gain status in his criminal organization by a committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist. Said accused has associated himself with known blood gang members in the Atlanta area”.

Officer Alicia Chilton, a spokeswoman for Cobb police, said that the arrest warrant was sealed and will not be made public. On Thursday the charges against Winfrey were released. A representative for Wayne could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that by committing a high-profile shooting of a rival rap artist Winfrey wanted to gain status in his criminal organization. He has associated himself with known blood gang members in the Atlanta area.
