Apple releases fix for iPhone 5’s Wi-Fi network data bug

Apple releases fix for iPhone 5’s Wi-Fi network data bugWith iPhone 5 users virtually flooding Apple's Support Communities with some complaints related to Wi-Fi problems in the newly-released smartphone, Apple has now rolled out a fix for the Wi-Fi network data flaw in the handset.

The bug which Apple has recently fixed needlessly used up valuable data minutes of the handset's users, as it led to consumption of cellular data in some devices - especially the ones on the Verizon Wireless network - when the users connected to the Internet via the Wi-Fi network.

In addition to the unnecessary depletion of cellular data minutes, several iPhone 5 users also complained that there were unable to connect to Wi-Fi networks after installing Apple's new mobile operating system, iOS 6.

According to the complaints, some of the iPhone 5 users were witnessing a complete `gray out' of the Wi-Fi option on their handset after they installed iOS 6, while others revealed that even the reinstallation of the OS, the resetting of the handset, or getting a replacement unit and other usual fixes to resolve the issue had failed to work.

With a 91-page thread on the Apple Discussion Forums featuring users' complaints about problems in connecting to a Wi-Fi network after iOS 6's installation, it is quite apparent that the issue is one of the fundamental problems with iPhone 5 and iOS 6 --- along with issues like marks and scratches around the handset's sides; light leaks behind the screen; and a purple halo effect on some pictures!
