Today, the Apollo Hospitals announced that they would be launching their day surgery centre in Chennai, which would be reducing the slight day surgeries period up to 60 minutes.

The company had already fixed the floor price of the matter at Rs 491.29 per equity share and they began their shares positioning with eligible institutional buyers. By now, the company has already invested, nearly an amount of Rs 270 crore for the extension plan.

After the launch, group founder and Executive Chairman of Apollo Hospital, Prathap C Reddy informed the reporters that the company has already planned to set up five centers in Chennai.

He further commented that in future, they have planned to set up many such centers in other parts of the country.

He added, "We used to have around 300-500 surgeries a day in all our hospitals and two-thirds of these surgeries could be done in day surgery centers. We expect that in the first six months, centres will be breaking their previous records even”.

Chennai’s day surgery centre connects to Apollo Clinics, Apollo Emergency 24X7, Apollo Chest Pain Clinics and Apollo Pharmacy.

Company sources claimed that the day surgery business is expected to earn a revenue Rs 20 crore avenue and these centers would approximately be able to conduct all the events, delivered by the hospitals.
