Amber Marchese’s breast cancer has returned

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese revealed that she is battling breast cancer again as it has returned again.

Marchese , 37, was first diagnosed with the life-threatening disease in 2009. She reportedly had a bilateral mastectomy. She has been cancer-free for the past five years. However, on April 23 her surgeon found the diseased cells again in the same breast as before.

In an exclusive interview with the People Magazine she said, "I was just sick to my stomach. I can't even begin to describe the feeling you get when someone says you have cancer. Then to get it again after you thought you fought it and thought it was behind you”.

Marchese said that it’s very difficult to remove 100% of breast tissue in such a procedure. According to her, the percentage of it recurring is less than 5 percent. She mentioned that she fell into that category and was unlucky.

Marchese will now undergo an additional surgery to remove the leftover breast tissue that is causing the tumor. She will be put on radiation therapy five days a week for the next five weeks. Just to make sure the cancer hasn’t spread, she will get an MRI of her brain and chest as well.

After finding the tumor and before making a formal statement about her diagnosis, the star shared her thoughts via Facebook.

She said that this uncertain time is not ruffling her feathers. This is of worldly worries and concerns. Her armor and sword is her prayer and joy, happiness and peace lies in faith.

On Twitter she wrote that she is physically and mentally strong. She is capable to put this all behind her and simply be mom again.
