Indian pugilists Amandeep and Jai Bhagwan have reached into the semifinal of the XXX Energy Drink Commonwealth Boxing Championship (CBC) at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.

Amandeep, South Asian Games gold medalist, punched out Rajabu Mbwana of Tanzania 9-1 in the quarterfinal of the 49 kg category. Amandeep will now face Redzuan of Malaysia in the semifinal.

In the 60 kg bout, Jai Bhagwan defeated Josh Taylor of Scotland 7-1 in the quarterfinal to book his berth in the last four. The Asian silver medalist Jai Bhagwan will now lock horns with Danny Phillips of England in the semifinal.

Meanwhile, India's Akhil Kumar has crashed out after he went down to English boxer Ian Weaver 6-12 in the quarterfinal of the 56 kg bout. Akhil was once leading by 3-0 in the first round but the young English pugilist came back with counter-attacks and won the match with a difference of six points.
