Agreement on budget is essential for global leadership, says Hillary Clinton

Agreement on budget is essential for global leadership, says Hillary ClintonHillary Clinton, the U. S. Secretary of State has said on Saturday that a deal on the budget is essential for the country's global leadership and national security.

She said that the resolution of the problem would boost efforts to project the country's economic power around the world. She was speaking in Singapore during a tour of Asia and Australia. She admitted that she had faced questions in the previous year if the country would be able to reach an agreement at the time when the US was about to breach its debt ceiling.

She said that the US government is preparing for another round of budget negotiations and she is hearing concerns about the impact of the US budget on the global economy. She said that even as there are differences between political parties, the US will be able to resolve the situation.

"Reaching a meaningful budget deal is a critical to both. It would shore up our ability to project economic power around the globe, strengthen our position in the competition of ideas shaping the global marketplace, and remind all nations that we remain a steady and dependable partner," she said.

She said that the US's leadership is based on its economic strength.
