Afghan President Hamid Karzai to meet PM todayNew Delhi, Jan 12 : Afghan President Hamid Karzai will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here today and hold discussion on the latest developments related to the terror strikes.

President Karzai arrived here on a two-day visit last evening against the backdrop of chill in Indo-Pak relations.

The Prime Minister is expected to share evidence about involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other Pakistan-based elements in the Mumbai attacks.

According to sources, the two leaders will hold discussion on bilateral cooperation to defeat terrorism.

Karzai, accompanied by Foreign Minister Rangeen Dadfar Spanta and his National Security Adviser, Zalmay Rasoul, will discuss "current regional issues" with Dr. Singh.

Since November''s deadly attacks in Mumbai, Afghan-India relations have gained fresh importance.

Karzai during his second visit in five months is expected to convey Afghanistan''s condolences on the Mumbai attacks, which left at least 179 people dead.

President Karzai is also scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Last year in August, Karzai visited India after the backdrop of suicide attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul in July, which killed at least 41 people. Afghan authorities said the attack was coordinated by Pakistan agents. (ANI)
