Mumbai: Anil Kakodkar, Atomic Energy Commission Chairman will be attending an IAEA meeting in Vienna in September, but it is not cleared whether he would discuss India-specific protection accord with the nuclear regulator in consideration of the Left parties' resistance.

According to the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) sources that the 51st Annual General Conference of IAEA starts on September 17 and will continue upto September 21, whilst the pre-conference conferences will be held on September 15 and 16.

The General Conference is the main policy constituting body of IAEA.

Government has so far maintained that there is no going back on the deal.

There will be sessions on `Nuclear Power', `New Challenges in Food, Agriculture and Health' in the IAEA discussion,

The sources added that the forum will also have a meeting on ‘Global safety and Security Regime: Building Robust Safety and Security Infrastructure’ and ‘Safeguards and Nuclear Verification--- a Long-term View.’
