Advani seeks clarification on Baalu seeking favour for his sons

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K AdvaniThiruvananthapuram, Apr 28 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani has demanded an explanation in Parliament from the Prime Minister on his cabinet colleague T. R. Baalu trying to influence the state-run Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) to provide gas to companies run by his sons in Tamil Nadu.

"I would like to urge the Prime Minister to make a statement in both houses of Parliament as to what he has to say about it. The facts are not in dispute at all. The cabinet minister has admitted having approached the PMO to seek favour for his son or sons," Advani said.

Baalu had admitted to taking favours for a family-owned firm and told the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian parliament, that there was nothing wrong in requesting the federal Petroleum Minister to provide gas to the company, in which he had held the post of Managing Director. Now, his sons and their wives are associated with the firm. (ANI)
