Yadea launches new low-cost KS3 e-scooter with impressive specs

Electric two-wheeler maker Yadea has announced the launch of a new electric scooter called the KS3, which is easier to handle and commute with, especially for those who need to lug it by hand to their final destination or carry it up a stairway.

While the Yadea KS3 e-scooter shares much of technology with the KS5 and KS5 Pro, it is not as heavier and high powered as the previously developed e-scooters. Nevertheless, it is quite strong. According to the company’s claims, the folding e-scooter itself weighs merely 14.8 kg (32 pounds) but it is capable of carrying riders weighing up to 100 kg (220 pounds). The company has, in fact, implemented its efficient e-scooter technology on a smaller scale.

The KS3 e-scooter comes equipped with a 500W rear motor that is powerful enough to enable the EV to run at a speed of up to 15.5 miles per hour (25 km/h). Its on-board lithium-ion battery offers a maximum range of 30 km (19 miles) on a single charge, and consumes nearly five hours to get fully recharged.

The KS3 comes with hollow tires that promise hassle-free ride with the ability to cope with various types of road surfaces. Its front shock absorber provides smooth ride even through bumpy roads. There is no need to check air pressure or deal with a flat tire as the EV’s 8.5″x2.4″ tires are tubeless and solid. According to the manufacturer, the tires are rated for around 5,000 km (roughly 3,000 miles) of wear.

Heidi Zang, Overseas Director for Yadea, said, “It has always been our endeavor to encourage green travel solutions and provide a wonderful riding experience that offers convenience, safety and freedom. We’re proud to launch the KS3, which reinforces our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and transforming the way we commute.”

Equipped with front drum brake and rear electric brake, the e-scooter allows the rider to stop it with just a light grip. Moreover, it can be easily folded up by releasing and then clicking the buckle. Being slim and small in size, it consumes very little space in house or in a car.

To fit the rider’s style, it offers three different riding styles. Pedestrian mode offers a maximum speed of 6km/h, while standard mode and sports mode offer maximum speeds of 15km/h and 25km/h, respectively.

Priced at just $569, the new slim and portable e-scooter will compete in the budget e-scooter category against Xiaomi-level personal mobility solutions.
