World media hails McCullum as world's 'best' batsman for antics in Lanka win

English media hailed McCullum as international cricket's player of the week, the Australians labelled him as 'a mould unto himself' and Asian cricket writers suggested that he is the best batsman in the world.

International media showered the skipper with praise after his team's Test win over Sri Lanka, after McCullum's team demolished Sri Lanka within four days, Stuff. co. nz reported.

McCullum's record-breaking innings was hailed around the world as the skipper capped a remarkable year for himself and his team.

McCullum forced the Australian media to take notice as there was reportedly a headline in an Australian publication that 'You'd be smiling too if you could block balls for six' with the quirky article describing the skipper's unique qualities.
