Windows Mobile 6.5, the existing operating system by Microsoft, is going to be renamed as Window Phone 'Classic'. Microsoft has already launched it latest version of mobile operating system during the Mobile Congress which is currently going on.

The existing operation system is called Windows Mobile 6.5 and was used as a softgap till the new Windows Mobile 7 was not launched. As of now, as per the company, the 6.5 version will continue to remain in the market.

It would co-exist with the 7 version. And the difference between the two would be that while Microsoft Mobile 7 has been made to provide the user with the latest updated technology, Microsoft Mobile 6 will be for the handsets which are already present and use the current technology.

Version 7 then would be for the high-end phones which would also be costly and the 6.5 version will be for the low-cost handsets.

Windows Mobile 6.5 was launched only a few months ago and as the experts believe, it would be difficult to sell it once the Windows Mobile 7 arrives in the market.
