Will Ferrell to immortalise Bush’s shoe attacker in his show
New York, December 19 : American comedian Will Ferrell is reportedly planning to stage-manage Iraqi reporter Muntathar al-Zaidi's "shoe attack" in his Broadway show `You''re Welcome, America: A Final Night With George W. Bush'.
In the show, set moments after Barack Obama''s swearing-in ceremony, Farrell will imitate Bush.
Sources have revealed that Farrell has plans to plant an actor in the audience to toss a piece of footwear at him.
Farrell is also said to be looking for Bush's latest blunders to parody.
Sources have also revealed that a recent preview of the comic at the Largo Theater in Los Angeles left the audience giggling.
Blogger and sneak-previewer Lawrence Denes describes the show as "less of a performance and more of an hour-and-a-half-long intimate conversation with George Bush, (who is) reminiscing on his life and career."
As the play begins, Ferrell, as Bush, shows the audience an intimate photo.
"I''m a loose cannon (now that I''m no longer President). I could even show you a picture of my penis," the New York Daily News quoted him as saying before flashing the phallus on a screen.
He even pontificates about Bush's early life as a Yale male cheerleader before moving on to his eight-year stint in the Oval Office.
Denes says: "He introduces VP Dick Cheney as ... a guy with so much charisma, he shot a guy in the face, and that guy ended up apologizing to him. ''That is some Clint Eastwood s- right there ... I''ll never forget, though: one time when I walked in on Cheney, in the basement, being [bleep]ed by a goat devil.''"
Farrel even raises the Iraq War issue in the show.
"What it comes down to is whether or not you can go to bed at night knowing the decisions you''ve made, and I have always been able to -mostly because I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere. I mean, I love sleep," he says. (ANI)
