Western Digital has made announcement about the launching a new portable USB Drive, named “My Passport Elite” in the Indian market.

Available in capacities of 320GB and 250GB, the newly launched drive is USB-bus powered, which do not require an external adaptor. But, an optional cable is also available for the few PCs that limit bus power. The drive can easily slide into the pocket, as it weighs less than 5 ounces.

The portable USB drive, which is specifically designed for consumer on the move, has a soft touch finish that makes it easy to grip, comfy to hold and stylish to carry.

Sharad Srivastava, Director Sales (India and South Asia), Western Digital, said, “Your digital content is as personal today as photos in shoeboxes and racks of CDs were yesterday.”

“The device that securely holds your content should be just as personal. Having listened to our customers, we are expanding the options available on our WD Passport family of personal storage devices with more features, content management functions and fashionable design,” Mr. Srivastava added.

The ‘capacity gauge’ feature of the drive lets users to view the available space at once.  

The drive comes packed with an automatic backup software gives the permission to designate files as well as folders for automatic and continuous backup. On the other hand, the synchronization software allows users to sync their changes and protect data with 128-bit encryption.

Moreover, the users can recover elapsed files from any MioNet-enabled PC (compatible with Windows only) and transfer them to My Passport Elite.

The drive also bundles a plug-and-play capability with gaming consoles, to makes it easy to play music and view photos and video files on a TV.

My Passport Elite USB Drive comes in four lively colors including bronze, titanium, Westminster blue and cherry red.

Along with 5 year warranty, the 250 GB capacity drive is available at the price of Rs. 10,350 and 320 GB drive for Rs. 12,150.
