VHP accuses centre of bias in terror investigation
New Delhi, Nov 8 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has blamed the Central Government of being biased to Hindus caught in terrorist attack case.
Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra has arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur for her suspected involvement in September 29 blasts in Malegaon, in which five people were killed.
The ATS arrested five people including Hindu activists and two retired army officials for their suspected role in the blast.
"I want to ask the government, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Vilasrao Deshmukh (Chief Minister of Maharashtra) that did you do a narco analysis test on Abu Salem
(underworld don),” said VHP leader Praveen Togadia, at a gathering of Hindu outfits in New Delhi on Friday.
“But narco analysis test was done on Sadhvi Prayga Singh, not once, twice or thrice, but four times. If she is innocent then even if you make a century of narco analysis test like a Sachin Tendulkar''s century, nothing will come out of it," added Togadia.
Seven people have been arrested in connection with the blasts.
On October 23, Pragya was arrested in connection with the Malegaon blasts along with former Army official Ramesh Upadhyay and Sameer Kulkarni.
Ajay Eknath Rahirkar, Jagdish Chintamani Mhatre and Rakesh Dattaram Dhawade were arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Sunday.
A Nashik court on Monday sent Sadhvi Pragya Thakur to judicial custody till Novenber17, while the custody of other two accused – Ramesh Upadhyay and Sameer Kulkarni - will end on November 10. (ANI)
