V-P Hamid Ansari arrives in Kazakhstan
Astana (Kazakhstan), Apr 7: Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari arrived in Kazakhstan's Capital Astana on Sunday evening.
During his visit, Ansari will hold talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev, and will also meet Senate Chairman K Tokayev and address the Senate.
Here, Ansari will also be conferred an honorary doctorate degree.
Security situation in Afghanistan along with cooperation in hydrocarbon sector is expected to dominate Ansari's meetings with the Kazakhstan leadership.
Ansari will also hold talks in which trade and economic cooperation could be stepped up between the two countries.
A high-level delegation, including Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahmed, is accompanying Ansari.
India and Kazakhstan have close ties in the energy sector and have already put in place an agreement on petroleum and natural gas sector. (ANI)
