U.S. Navy awards net-centric support contract to JacobsIt has been reported that the U. S. Navy selected Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to provide testing and integration support services for network-centric warfare training.

California's Jacobs received the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. The 5-year award is worth an estimated $241 million, officials have said.

It will be expected to support the software and equipment for Live Virtual Constructive network-centric warfare training technology at the Naval Air Warfare Center's Combat Environment Simulation unit in California, says Jacobs, a provider of technical, professional and construction services.

Jacobs President and Chief Executive Officer Craig Martin said in a statement, "We are very pleased at the opportunity to continue providing our support to the Combat Environment Simulation organization in its mission to provide high technology products and services to the warfighter."

As part of the contract, it will support the training software and equipment with development, installation, integration and testing services among other requirements, says Jacobs. (With Inputs from Agencies)
